Leadership
Anwar R. Kaluti, born in 1954, is a prominent Jordanian businessman and the founder of the Anwar Kaluti Group. He grew up immersed in the family business, learning the intricacies of trade from his father, Ragheb Kaluti, who imported a variety of goods, including meat products, auto parts, shoes, and carpets, from Europe to Jerusalem, Jordan, and Dubai. Anwar's early experiences alongside his father served as a vital foundation for his business acumen.
The family eventually focused on the carpet industry, transitioning from general imports to specializing in machine-made carpets. In 1987, Anwar and his brothers founded Arab Weavers Factory, marking their entry into carpet and yarn manufacturing. Following the 2004 American invasion of Iraq, he diversified into real estate, acquiring land and developing properties, which led to the establishment of Kaluti Properties. This company specializes in real estate development, contracting, land trading, and hotel management, with operations extending from Jordan to the UAE and Canada.
Anwar is also deeply committed to philanthropy, contributing to community development through the construction of mosques, charity centers, housing for those in need, and educational and cultural centers for youth. He credits his values and success to the teachings of his father, embodying the personal motto: “What we are is God’s gift to us.”
